The EJ-640 has stepped print heads which cover a large printing width to increase production and are arranged in a mirrored foundation to reduce the risk of colour banding. Double eight-Piezo inkjet heads 180 nozzles per channel while patent-pending Roland Intelligent Pass commands the control system dot placement between passes to produce solid colours and exceptional quality of the photographic image. The use of variable dot technology enables smooth point gradations and deep saturation of the picture on a broad range of media.

The EJ-640 quickly dries prints, even in high-speed mode, for immediate finishing, installation or collection by the winding system.
